New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton and general manager Mickey Loomis are scheduled to meet with Bill Parcells on Tuesday to gauge his interest in becoming New Orleans' interim head coach while Payton serves a one-year suspension, according to a league source.
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter says Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis will meet with Bill Parcells to determine if he is interested in becoming the Saints' interim coach. Schefter also dishes on Payton's relationship with Parcells, whether Payton will appeal his one-year suspension and more.

Payton has been suspended for a year and Loomis for eight regular-season games for failing to halt a bounty program that paid Saints defenders for hits that resulted in opponents having to leave the game.
Yet one NFL source said Monday night that he would be "shocked" if Parcells took the Saints job, largely because he likely would have to wait five more years to be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame if he returned to coaching.
On Monday, Parcells said he had advised Payton about the situation.
"Sean Payton and I know each other well, and he has sought my counsel about his situation with the Saints. He has told me a little bit about the team, about the situation they're in, and about the players. But that is it," Parcells told SI.com on Monday.
Asked if he had the bug to return to coaching, Parcells told SI.com, "I don't think so.''
Payton has until Monday, April 2 to appeal the suspension.
Payton's assistant head coach Joe Vitt was given a six-game suspension, while the franchise was fined $500,000 and lost second-round draft picks this year and next.
Gregg Williams, who as Saints defensive coordinator oversaw the bounty pool, has been suspended indefinitely. He left New Orleans for the same coaching position in St. Louis earlier this year.
As for whether Payton will meet and speak with the media, the issue still was undecided late Monday night. One person who spoke to Payton about it said the Saints coach still was uncertain how these last two days of the owners meetings would play out.
Payton has not addressed the media since the suspension, but has issued two written statements apologizing for the Saints' bounty system.
